The expansive tendency of colour creates an atmosphere of sensation which is supported by the inner hierarchy of meaning created by the form of the image. There is a certain relational hierarchy between the asceticism of form and the complexity of color. If the act by which the elements are composed is dominated by the form, this surfaces visibly on the painting as energy, a dynamic tendency emanating from inside. Between the poles of chaos and order, I try present the fundamental collision of picture plane and coloration. Ultimately these must maintain one another in an active neutrality on the canvas, and transmit this symbiosis to the viewer.
